Octoberfest! Halloween is coming...but I got my blog's backwards.

Happy Halloween!

It's Halloween night and the weather is beautiful...Zach was counting down the minutes until he could head out! He insisted on being a "ghost" this year and we ended up creating it after school hours before he went trick-or-treating. Here he is with Heidi and Katie, neighbor girls who sometimes babysit him.
Here he is next to the pumpkin he helped carve. Believe it or not, he was the only ghost we saw all evening!

Zach trick-or-treating at his friend Luke's house...We also hooked up with Lisa and John's family and went around their neighborhood! Zach had a blast and all the kids' legs were beat tired by the end...but their buckets showed the rewards of all that walking!

Can you see something that does not look like the others? Zach went to a neighbor's house and said "trick-or-treat" and the neighbor said "I'll give you a treat" and came out with this apple. It was a really yummy apple!

Ohhhh...the wonder of fall...until you have to rake the leaves!!!

Think how many trips it is going to take back and forth, doing it by the arm fulls, to get to the below picture's leaf pile height? The kids tried, but I helped Zach the next day by raking them into this pile almost as tall as he is.

He said he wanted to head-butt the leaf pile...how do you head-butt a leaf pile? I guess you go head first!

This is all that is left of Zach after a dive into the pile. He completely disappears in the next picture.


Cool jumping action shot...I just hope there is no sharp or poky object waiting below the leaves.




Ahhhh! Zach is in leaf heaven. He loves jumping in the leaves and if he could have his way, he would rake the first batch of leaves in September in any condition just to have an excuse to jump in!

Robert's 37th Birthday - September 26, 2007

Robert making one of his typical faces because he is so impressed I made mom (grandma Higginson's) famous sour cream chocolate cake...thanks to mom, the frosting turned out perfect!

Itty Bitty Bountiful City - September 24, 2007

Lisa and John planned a fun Family Home Evening for the whole Higginson clan in September and it was a lot of fun! We walked what felt like miles but in a fun way. We were to find various items that were located between certain streets just off of Main Street during a set time. I have lived here all of my life and never knew some of these things existed. What a fun event, and better yet, Zach, Robert, and I took first place thanks to Zach finding one last thing! Thanks John and Lisa for a fun FHE activity!

Sorry I have been a bit behind on my blog....life has just happened. Here goes a new post.

1. I am an organized, clean, neat freak!

2. I love to sleep late whenever I can.

3. I am what is called a "laggard" concerning any new trend. I tend to be the last to get it, catch on to it, or embrace it.

4. I love to save money, but I also like to spend it!

5. I mess up phrases such as "stitch in time", etc. like my mother. I come by it honestly. I also have a hard time identifying car makes and models. I think I see a family member because there is for example, a white van, and it is not even the right car make/model. Robert makes fun of me a lot.

6. I like to do things the correct way. As some family members can testify, I have to have "perfect form" (i.e. snow skiing, water skiing, tennis, swan diving, blogging :)).

Because I am a laggard, there is probably no one left to tag...if there is anyone out there, you're it!
